Design Your Own
You Design … We Print
We are happy to print items which you have designed yourself. There are many ways to do this but for an excellent range of templates and ease of printing we recommend Canva.
Click here to go directly to their website and get started, or read on for some helpful links and tips to make the process as easy as possible.
When you have created your design, the simplest thing is to share it with Cavern Design Printing and we can make any small adjustments required before printing. Alternatively, you can download a PDF from Canva and we will print from that. When you’re downloading choose “PDF Print” under File Type and please tick the box beside “Crop marks and bleed”.
In addition to a wide range of templates you can use as the starting point for designing your Poster, Ticket, Invitation or other item to be printed, Canva has a wide range of learning resources in their “Design School“
One of the best starting points when designing for print is their “Step by step guide to designing from scratch” which explains –
- How to create a design from scratch using Canva
- Quick tips to make your designs look good
- How to choose the dimensions for your design
- How to create a background for your design
- How to add text, images and more
To get started, login to Canva.com by creating a free account (there is also a paid Pro option which has some additional features).
Then click the “Get Started” button at the top left and search for or select a template to start your design from.
We can print many sizes – from a Business Card (85x54mm), Standard Ticket (A7 – 74x105mm), Large Ticket or Postcard (A6 105x148mm), Flier (DL 99x210mm), Flier (A5 148x210mm), Small Poster (A4 210x297mm), Standard Poster (A3 297x420mm), Large Posters (A2 420x594mm or A1 594x840mm) as well as Pull-Up Banner Displays (850mm wide x 2000mm tall). You can use these sizes in your setup.
When you have your design ready…
When you have your design finished and have checked everything over, click the “Share” button, put in email@example.com in the “Share this design” box and click on “Send” which will link your design over to us.
If you would prefer to download your design for printing then click the “Share” button as above but then click on “Download” and choose “PDF Print” as the filetype and then very importantly click the box beside “Crop marks and bleed” and then click the “Download” button and you will have the PDF file saved to your computer and you can email it to us.
